Tiger Woods’ Former Partner ‘Drops $30 Million Lawsuit’

Tiger Woods’ former partner, Erica Herman, has chosen to withdraw her $30 million lawsuit against the 82-time PGA Tour champion, as revealed in documents obtained by the New York Post. This legal dispute, initiated in October 2022, coincided with the termination of Woods and Herman’s relationship. The crux of Herman’s claim centered on damages of $30 million from a homestead trust established by Woods in 2017, a trust with only Woods and his two children as beneficiaries.

At the time of the lawsuit, Herman’s legal team contended that her eviction from Woods’ Florida residence violated an “oral tenancy agreement,” which she believed entitled her to reside at the property for several more years. The lawsuit further alleged that the trust’s representatives employed deceptive tactics, convincing Herman to pack for a Bahamas vacation before abruptly locking her out of the house with no re-entry granted.

Herman asserted that an arrangement had been made for her to live at the house rent-free, with five years remaining on the agreement when Woods terminated their relationship. Conversely, Woods’ legal team countered this, asserting that Herman was a “guest” who had been “invited” to stay with him. While the case has been dropped, a separate lawsuit remains unresolved. In this second appeal, Herman alleges sexual harassment by Woods, a claim that a Florida judge previously dismissed as “vague and threadbare,” instead ordering that it be addressed through private arbitration proceedings.

The origins of the dispute trace back to a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) signed in 2017 when Herman was employed at Woods’ restaurant in Florida, the very place where their relationship began. Herman had been attempting to nullify this NDA, which mandated confidentiality regarding her relationship with Woods and dispute resolution through private arbitration. Woods had initially sought to resolve the matter privately under NDA conditions but was subsequently accused of sexual harassment, leading to ongoing legal battles.
