Carlos Alcaraz recently extended his congratulations to Coco Gauff after her remarkable victory at the WTA Finals in Riyadh. In a thrilling match that showcased her resilience and skill, the 20-year-old American came back from a set down to defeat Qinwen Zheng 3-6, 6-4, 7-6(2) in a hard-fought battle lasting over three hours.

This victory, which capped off her impressive 2024 season, marked Gauff’s third title of the year and came with a record-breaking prize of $4.805 million—the largest purse in women’s tennis history. The win also elevated Gauff to World No. 3, making her the first American woman to capture the WTA Finals title since Serena Williams in 2014.

On Instagram, Gauff shared her excitement, posting photos with the trophy and expressing gratitude for the support she received. Among those celebrating her achievement was Carlos Alcaraz, who commented, “Simply amazing,” along with a fire emoji, to which Gauff replied, “Thank you! Good luck in Turin!” Other prominent figures in tennis, including Holger Rune, Patrick Mouratoglou, and Taylor Townsend, joined in praising her success.

After a challenging season that included setbacks in the Wimbledon and Paris Olympics, Gauff’s win in Riyadh symbolized her perseverance and growth as a player. Looking ahead to 2025, she expressed gratitude and a desire to rest briefly before preparing for the new season, attributing her achievements to hard work and faith.
