Serena Williams, the legendary tennis player, received an apology from The Peninsula Paris after a social media post went viral, revealing that she and her family were turned away from the hotel’s rooftop restaurant despite the venue being largely empty.

Williams expressed her frustration on X, remarking that she had never experienced such an incident, especially when dining with her children. The post quickly garnered over 4 million views, drawing attention to the treatment of celebrities at high-end establishments.

In response, the luxury hotel clarified the situation, apologizing for the confusion. They explained that while the rooftop bar was indeed fully booked, the unoccupied tables visible to Williams were reserved for their gourmet restaurant, L’Oiseau Blanc.

The hotel assured Williams that they had always been honored to welcome her and
expressed a desire to do so again in the future. Public reactions to the incident were mixed, with some sympathizing with Williams, while others argued that no special accommodations should be made for celebrities at fully booked venues.
