Emma Raducanu is poised for a significant rankings breakthrough in the early months of 2025, capitalizing on a solid comeback year in 2024.

The former US Open champion has risen from a world ranking of No. 285 to close the year within the top 60, a testament to her resilience after undergoing three surgeries.

Highlights of her 2024 season include reaching the fourth round at Wimbledon, semi-finals in Nottingham, and quarter-finals in Washington and Seoul.

These achievements, along with a strong performance in the Billie Jean King Cup, indicate her ability to compete at the highest level despite challenges.

Raducanu’s determination to build momentum and improve her fitness positions her as a serious contender for a return to the WTA’s elite.

Looking ahead, Raducanu has only 170 points to defend in the opening months of 2025, giving her a chance to climb significantly in the rankings.

She begins her campaign at the ASB Classic in Auckland on December 30, aiming to carry her pre-season form into the Australian Open.

A strong run at the year’s first Grand Slam could propel her into the top 30, potentially reclaiming the title of British No. 1.

Raducanu’s focus on improving her athleticism and staying injury-free—possibly with the help of fitness trainer Yutaka Nakamura—underscores her ambition for sustained success. With her talent and tenacity, 2025 could be a transformative year for this young star.
