Sam Kerr, the Matildas’ iconic No. 20, is expected to remain sidelined until February or March 2025 as she continues her recovery from an ACL injury sustained in January 2024.

This setback, which forced her to miss the latter half of Chelsea’s season and Australia’s Paris 2024 Olympic campaign, has required patience and meticulous rehabilitation.

Speaking to Optus Sport, Kerr emphasized her focus on long-term recovery, stating, “There’s no rush—I want to make sure I can play for many more years.” Chelsea manager Sonia Bompastor confirmed that Kerr has not yet returned to training and is undergoing individual rehab.

Despite the challenges, the 31-year-old forward remains optimistic, with her next goal marking her 100th for Chelsea—an achievement she anticipates will be a special milestone in her decorated career.
