PGA Championship Is ‘America’s Favorite’ Jordan Spieth’s Only Lifeline for Paris Olympics 2025; Here’s Why

Jordan Spieth’s journey toward the 2024 Paris Olympics is a challenging one, marked by missed opportunities and stiff competition. The three-time major champion, who withdrew from the 2016 Games citing health concerns and missed the Tokyo Olympics due to the pandemic, is now fighting for a spot in Paris.

Currently ranked 24th on the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) and outside the Olympic Golf Rankings’ top 60, Spieth must deliver extraordinary performances to qualify. Winning the PGA Championship at Valhalla, which offers 100 OWGR points, could boost him into the top 15.

However, even that might not secure his ticket, as only four Americans can represent the U.S., and Spieth faces formidable competition from Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Wyndham Clark, and Patrick Cantlay.

With only a few events left before the June 17 qualification deadline, Spieth must overcome his inconsistent form and outshine his peers to realize his Olympic dream. Whether he can seize this lifeline remains to be seen.
