Joao Felix, the talented forward, has opened up about his recent experiences in the football world. In a candid interview, he disclosed his challenges in maintaining top-level performance during his stints at Atletico Madrid and Chelsea. However, since his loan move to Barcelona, Felix has found his stride once again.

Felix’s football journey took a significant turn when he joined Barcelona on a season-long loan, driven by his difficulties in gaining favor with Diego Simeone at Atletico Madrid and an underwhelming second half of the previous season with Chelsea. His arrival at Barcelona has been nothing short of spectacular, with three goals and three assists in just eight appearances in various competitions.

In an interview reported by 90min, Joao Felix expressed his delight and contentment with his new club. He mentioned, “As you can see, I’m happy where I am, I feel good, confident, and I feel like I’m going through a good moment.” He went on to discuss the significance of maintaining a high level, something he hadn’t achieved in recent seasons. Nevertheless, Felix remains focused on self-improvement and finding consistent success.

Felix’s journey in football has been nothing short of remarkable. His move from Benfica to Atletico Madrid in 2019 for a staggering £119 million made him the second-most expensive teenager globally, following Kylian Mbappe. However, he faced hurdles at Atletico, struggling to reach double figures in a single La Liga season due to injuries and disagreements with his coach, Diego Simeone.

His loan spell at Chelsea was particularly memorable for a less favorable reason, as he was sent off on his debut, and the club finished 12th in the Premier League. However, Felix’s determination to make a dream move to Barcelona was evident when he accepted an annual salary of just €400,000 (£345,000) upon his arrival. There was a provision for increasing his salary once Barcelona’s financial situation allowed it, which has since seen his earnings skyrocket to €4 million (£3.45 million) for the duration of his season-long loan.

Despite the impressive increase in his salary, it’s noteworthy that his new earnings of £66,345 per week still fall far below the €280,000 per week (£250,000) he was reportedly receiving at Atletico Madrid, where he remains under contract for another six years. Joao Felix’s journey serves as a testament to his resilience and determination to find his footing in the football world, and his promising start at Barcelona bodes well for his future in the sport.
