Sam Kerr, born in East Fremantle, a suburb of Perth, which happens to be close to the location of the newly constructed State Football Centre in Queens Park, expressed her pride, saying, “It fills me with pride to think that football in Western Australia is growing so rapidly in popularity and that children, at a grassroots level, as well as world-class sporting teams will be able to access these impressive facilities.”

Sam Kerr’s remarkable achievements on the football pitch have not only earned her recognition as one of the finest footballers globally but have also been instrumental in advancing women’s football both in the United Kingdom and Australia. This 30-year-old athlete has played a pivotal role in helping Chelsea secure four Women’s Super League titles since joining the club in 2020.
