Charlie’s Hard Work Pays Off
Charlie’s hard work is paying off. This week, the 14-year-old participated in the Junior Golf National Championship at the Mission Inn Resort where his father was his caddie. And to his father’s and the fans’ delight, Charlie has won the event. He had scored a solo lead with a total of -7. He made a 15 ft putt on the 18th hole to secure the victory in the boys of 14-15 years old division.

Tiger’s Proud Moment
In another video surfaced from the course, where Charlie Woods made his 5th birdie of the day. In the video, Tiger was heard praising his son by saying, “Well done! Though Woods is on hiatus and not playing on the green, he must be so happy to see his son shine in their favorite sport.

Charlie’s Previous Victory
Before this, Charlie enjoyed another victory this year at the Hurricane Junior Tour event where he finished under par for 36 holes. His father has also acted as an investor in the tour.

Charlie’s Winning Mindset
To make his victory he birdied 1, 2, 3, 10, 11, and 12 and came in tied for the lead. When asked, he walked the interviewer through the mental process of the final round. “If you are tied for lead then you have to go the lowest. Just took it one shot at a time. Don’t think it too far ahead and just keep eating.” To this, the interviewer replied funnily, “You ate a lot of birdies today,” and Charlie broke into laughter. He finished the round with shooting 66. About that, he said, “It feels good. I made 68 last year. This year it is 66. Honestly, this course is great for me.”

Father-Son Bond on the Course
The interviewer also asked him about his father being his caddie and how did that go? Charlie replied, “We just stayed in our own little world and took it one shot at a time. He keeps me focused.” Woods must have felt a proud father when he saw his son making the final winning putt. Under his guidance, Charlie has many more competitions to win.
