Alexander Zverev continues to chase his dream of a Grand Slam title, but the German tennis star acknowledges he’s trailing behind rising stars Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.

In 2024, Zverev faced tough losses against Alcaraz, notably at the French Open and Indian Wells, showing a gap he’s determined to close. Alcaraz, with four Grand Slam titles already under his belt, and Sinner, currently ranked No. 1, have set the bar high for Zverev.

Despite his intense training regime, which sees him return to the practice court even after hard-fought matches, Zverev knows there’s work ahead to reach their level. He’s using each match, including those at the Paris Masters, as a stepping stone to improve and set a solid foundation for the coming season.

Reflecting on his current standing, Zverev, now ranked No. 2, remains humble about his achievements. Despite leapfrogging Alcaraz in the rankings, Zverev is quick to credit the younger players’ impressive year, noting that Sinner and Alcaraz are still the “two best players in the world.”

As he gears up for another season, Zverev views his newfound discipline as a necessary step toward finally breaking his Grand Slam drought. This end-of-season grind is not just about immediate victories but part of a larger journey to reclaim his place among the tennis elite and secure the elusive Grand Slam title.
