Charley Hull hits the deck but gets back up to take lead at The Annika on LPGA Tour

Charley Hull overcame a mid-round setback to lead the field after the first day of The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican on the LPGA Tour. Midway through her round, the English golfer required physio treatment for a hip issue that has troubled her frequently.

Hull, however, showed resilience by bouncing back from the interruption and firing a remarkable 6-under 64. Hull’s performance follows her recent victory at the Aramco Team Series in Riyadh, where she ended a two-year title drought, signaling a return to form just in time for the LPGA season’s close.

With the LPGA Tour’s regular season winding down, Hull appears determined to add another win to her resume. Her impressive round included seven birdies, with only one bogey, tying her with South Korea’s Jiwon Jeon at the top of the leaderboard.

Hull, who admitted to neglecting her physio routine in recent weeks, cited her hip pain as a factor but seemed unshaken in her pursuit of victory. Meanwhile, World No. 1 Nelly Korda, recently named LPGA Rolex Player of the Year, trails close behind with an opening 66, aiming for her seventh title of the year.
