Anna Nordqvist, a three-time major champion from Sweden, has been appointed as Team Europe’s captain for the 2026 Solheim Cup. At 37, she becomes the second-youngest European captain since the event’s inception in 1990.

Nordqvist’s Solheim Cup journey began in 2009, and the 2026 event will mark her 10th appearance. She has previously served as a playing vice-captain in the last two editions of the tournament.

Expressing her excitement, Nordqvist highlighted the Solheim Cup’s significant impact on her career and the lasting friendships it has fostered. The upcoming competition is scheduled for September 11-13, 2026, at Bernardus Golf in Cromvoirt, Netherlands.

The U.S. team, leading the overall series 11-7-1, has yet to announce their captain for the 2026 event. They will aim to retain their title against Nordqvist’s European squad
