Dallas, Las Vegas, Los Angeles: Clues Emerge on the 2024 LIV Golf Schedule

As the anticipation builds for LIV Golf’s third season, fans and players alike are eager to glimpse the 2024 league schedule. Although not officially unveiled, hints and details have begun to surface, shedding light on what the upcoming season may hold. However, in the ever-evolving world of LIV Golf, nothing is set in stone until it’s officially confirmed.

One notable observation from the preliminary schedule is the absence of any former President Donald Trump-owned properties. In the previous year, LIV Golf ventured onto two Trump courses, followed by two more this year, with the season-ending Team Championship set for Trump National Doral near Miami. Yet, the 2024 schedule paints a different picture, with no Trump venues in sight and the season-ending championship labeled as “South Florida.”

As for confirmed venues, the information remains scarce, with only a handful of locations on the radar. The season opener is tentatively scheduled for Mayakoba in Mexico, followed by the Greenbrier in West Virginia and Valderrama in Spain. Beyond these events, there’s an air of uncertainty.

The 2024 season seems poised to take LIV Golf across international borders, with eight events planned outside the United States. The global tour includes stops in Mexico, Jeddah, Hong Kong, Adelaide, Singapore, Valderrama, England, and South Korea, promising an exciting array of courses and challenges.

The season kicks off with a potential February event in Mexico, followed closely by a tournament in Las Vegas. March promises back-to-back competitions in Jeddah and Hong Kong. Meanwhile, the U.S. schedule features stops in Dallas, Los Angeles, and Oklahoma City.

Interestingly, the Los Angeles tournament precedes the U.S. Open, coinciding with the Memorial Tournament at Pinehurst, while Oklahoma City follows suit, aligning with the Travelers Championship. Unlike this year, Valderrama and England are set to bookend the British Open at Royal Troon, creating a dynamic climax to the season.

Notably, the final event of the season is expected to occur in September, likely just a week before the Presidents Cup and following the tournament in South Korea. Notably absent from the schedule are events in Tucson, with Tulsa potentially replaced by the Oklahoma City tournament.

Two overarching themes emerge from this preliminary schedule. First, LIV Golf is strategically seeking venues that are willing to invest in the showcase of their courses. Second, the league appears less concerned about competing with some of the larger PGA Tour events. For instance, Mayakoba will coincide with the PGA Tour’s tournament at Pebble Beach, while Las Vegas will share its weekend with the WM Phoenix Open, also known as Super Bowl weekend.

Similarly, the Los Angeles and Oklahoma City events, coinciding with the U.S. Open, will go head-to-head with Signature events at the Memorial and the Travelers. The Greenbrier, much like this year, will align with the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup playoff event in Memphis.
