In an interview with SiriusXM’s PGA Tour channel, Scott revealed that Scheffler jokingly warns, “Don’t make me go back to prison” during moments of intense focus or competition. Scott quickly clarified that it’s just a humorous line, underscoring Scheffler’s drive and unique sense of humor.

He also shared that Scheffler is fiercely competitive, whether on the golf course or in other activities like pickleball, where his main aim, according to Scott, is to target him playfully.

The partnership between Scheffler and Scott has been a winning one, with their 2024 season boasting an impressive record. They competed in 19 events, reaching the top 10 in 16 of them, with seven victories, including the Masters and an Olympic gold medal.

Scott recalled how Scheffler’s competitive nature even surfaced during a pool volleyball game at the Byron Nelson event, where a light-hearted argument with fellow golfer Sam Burns led to some friendly dunking in the pool. Scott praised both Scheffler and Burns for their intensity, saying that they surround themselves with similarly competitive people to drive one another toward excellence.
