Emma Raducanu boards London bus after having £125,000 Porsche ‘taken back’ by car manufacturer

Emma Raducanu, British tennis sensation and 2021 US Open champion, recently turned heads by taking a London bus after her Porsche was reclaimed by the manufacturer. Despite her success on the court, Raducanu’s sponsorship with Porsche, which included the loan of a luxurious £125,000 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet, ended with the car’s return earlier this month.

Known for her admiration of the brand, Raducanu had cherished the vehicle, which symbolized a childhood dream linked to her first tennis coach’s own Porsche. Her representatives confirmed that while she is a brand ambassador, the car was only loaned to her as part of an ad hoc arrangement.

The Porsche sponsorship remains intact, with the brand stating it has not altered its partnership with Raducanu, who has been with them since 2022. In response to her vehicle’s retrieval, Raducanu was seen taking public transport around London, including a bus ride through West London.

Her return to public transport follows a difficult year of injuries, including recent ligament damage in her foot. Although her sponsorship remains active, the return of the car marks an unexpected change in Raducanu’s lifestyle, a shift from the luxury of a sports car back to a more grounded mode of travel.
