Emma Raducanu has opened up about the challenges she faced during her time away from tennis due to injuries, highlighting how difficult it was to be sidelined. After a meteoric rise to fame following her 2021 US Open victory, the young British star has been repeatedly hampered by injuries that have interrupted her momentum and halted her career growth.

In 2023, Raducanu underwent surgeries on her ankle and both wrists, which kept her away from the sport for an extended eight months. Initially expected to return after four months, she experienced setbacks that delayed her recovery.

The experience, however, taught her valuable lessons in patience and resilience, as she learned the importance of pacing herself through rehabilitation rather than rushing back too soon.

Raducanu also shared how watching tennis during her recovery was mentally challenging, as she felt distanced from the action on court. Despite her struggles, Raducanu managed to climb back to the No. 55 spot in the WTA rankings, preparing for a healthier 2025 season.

Unfortunately, her return to competitive play has still faced obstacles; she recently had to withdraw from several tournaments, including the Hong Kong Open, due to a foot injury. In a message to her fans, she expressed optimism about her recovery and hopes to compete in the upcoming Billie Jean King Cup finals. Through these setbacks, Raducanu has grown more appreciative of her health, recognizing that a sustained recovery is key to her long-term career.
