Jordan Spieth says buyer of his $2.8 million house demands Masters tickets in exchange for item left behind

Jordan Spieth’s sale of his Dallas mansion in 2016 came with an unusual twist involving a safe and a disgruntled buyer. After upgrading to a $7.1 million property, Spieth accidentally left behind valuables, including his high school ring, in a safe at his previous $2.8 million home.

The new owner, a self-proclaimed golf fan, refused to return the items unless Spieth provided coveted Masters tickets and joined him for dinner. Spieth declined, suggesting it was the “right thing” to return the items.

Instead, Spieth’s mother retrieved the safe, but the golfer never delivered on the ticket promise, leaving the buyer upset enough to leave a note at Spieth’s gate.

Reflecting on the bizarre situation, Spieth humorously described himself as a “master negotiator” in hindsight.
