The DP World Tour’s 2024 season, spanning 42 global tournaments, is drawing to a close, and as the final rounds approach, the top-ranked players are gearing up for the prestigious playoffs in the UAE.

After the Genesis Championship in South Korea, the Tour will head to Yas Links for the penultimate playoff event, followed by the DP World Tour Championship at the Jumeirah Golf Estates’ Earth Course. To qualify for these playoffs, which feature a combined prize pool of $19 million, players must have participated in several DP World Tour events throughout the year and accumulated significant Race to Dubai points.

From the 70 players who advance to the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, the top 50 after the first playoff event will secure spots in the DP World Tour Championship. Among the playoff contenders are four LIV Golf pros who’ve earned their way in through standout performances.

Jon Rahm, after facing fines and eligibility hurdles due to his LIV contract, managed to secure a playoff spot by finishing 33rd on the Race to Dubai rankings. Tyrrell Hatton, who had an exceptional season with notable wins, holds a strong position at 22nd on the list.

Meanwhile, Joaquin Niemann’s consistent top finishes across European events, including a solo fifth at the Fortinet Australian PGA Championship, have propelled him into playoff contention. Adrian Meronk, the latest LIV recruit, also made the cut with impressive placements in recent DP World Tour events.

For these LIV players, the upcoming playoffs not only offer a chance at the season’s top prizes but also a critical opportunity to gain Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) points to enhance their standings and secure invites to next year’s majors.
