Nelly Korda gives major injury report that kept her out of two tournaments

Nelly Korda, currently ranked World No. 1, recently revealed a neck injury that forced her to miss the BMW Ladies Championship in South Korea and the Maybank Championship in Malaysia. Sharing an update with her fans on social media, Korda expressed optimism about her recovery, signaling her return to practice with a celebratory post.

In a shadowy photo, she flashed a victory sign with golf balls and her club nearby, hinting at a potential return to the greens soon. Her health announcement was a relief to fans who are eager to see her back in action.

Despite the setback, Korda’s 2024 season has been remarkable, with six LPGA Tour titles, including five consecutive wins and a second Major title at the Chevron Championship. However, her injury may impact her bid for the Vare Trophy, which requires players to complete 70 rounds by season’s end.

Although she might miss out on that trophy, she still holds a lead over Lydia Ko in the LPGA Player of the Year race. Korda’s next scheduled appearances include The Annika driven by Gainbridge and the CME Group Tour Championship in November, with a special outing alongside her father at the PNC Championship in December.
