Paris 2024: Iga Swiatek Wins Bronze, Secures Poland’s First Olympic Tennis Medal

Iga Swiatek has made history by winning Poland’s first Olympic medal in tennis at Paris 2024. The world No.1 triumphed over Slovakia’s Anna Karolina Schmiedlova in just 59 minutes, clinching the bronze medal with a decisive 6-1, 6-2 victory.

Swiatek’s swift win came after a disappointing semi-final loss to China’s Zheng Qinwen. This bronze medal is a significant achievement for Poland, highlighting Swiatek’s resilience and determination. Her victory on Court Philippe-Chatrier on August 2 marked a memorable day for Polish tennis.

Swiatek, a four-time French Open champion, has consistently performed well at Roland-Garros.
