PGA TOUR star Jordan Spieth and his wife, Annie, began FedEx St. Jude Championship week with a meaningful visit to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital on Monday, August 12. During their visit, the couple presented a $500,000 grant from the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation to support research and treatment for acute myeloid leukemia (AML), one of the most challenging forms of childhood cancer.

This grant, marking the foundation’s first to St. Jude, reflects their ongoing commitment to pediatric cancer, one of the foundation’s four philanthropic pillars. The Spieths also toured the hospital, meeting researchers and visiting The Domino’s Village, a facility providing housing for patient families.

They were inspired by the stories of two cancer survivors, including one treated for AML at St. Jude, underscoring the vital impact of the hospital’s work.

“After years of visiting St. Jude, we trust their world-class research and treatment approaches,” said Annie Spieth. Jordan added, “We founded the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation to help as many families as possible, and this investment into AML research is deeply personal for us.” Richard C. Shadyac Jr., President and CEO of ALSAC, the fundraising arm of St. Jude, expressed gratitude for the foundation’s generosity, highlighting its role in advancing AML research and ensuring no family receives a bill for treatment, travel, or housing.

The Spieths’ longstanding relationship with St. Jude has been a cornerstone of their philanthropic efforts, with Jordan’s early PGA TOUR ties to Memphis and the FedEx St. Jude Championship strengthening their commitment to the hospital’s lifesaving mission.
