Why Is Charley Hull Not Part of the Grant Thornton Invitational 2024 Field? LPGA Star’s Absence Explained

The much-awaited 2024 Grant Thornton Invitational is all set to kick start in a few hours. While the field is completely star-studded, quite a few big names seem to be missing this year. LPGA Tour star Charley Hull is one of them. Last year, she paired up with PGA Tour pro-Justin Rose, and they finished for a T9 with three other pairs. While she could have attained redemption at the Tiburon Golf Club, looks like she won’t make it. But why?

Charley Hull was last seen at the CME Group Tour Championship in November just a few weeks ago. She finished with an 11-under at T16, and well, that was the end of the 2024 season for her. While her fellow players like Nelly Korda, Lydia Ko, Lexi Thompson, and others compete this weekend, she has decided to have fun with her family, friends, and of course her beloved golf clubs in the off-season.

She has been going out on dinners and vacations too. Charley Hull has been sharing all the updates on her Instagram account. A few days ago, she shared a post on her Instagram with her family as they went out for dinner. The carousel featured herself, her father, and her adorable nephew. And that’s not all.

Hull has also been spending time with her best friend, Georgia Hall, who is also a pro golfer. The duo have been friends since they were eleven and are widely regarded as ‘Rose and Thorn’ in the golf world.

It is safe to say that the 28 YO pro has already started enjoying her off-season. But the question is, what are her plans for making it back to the greens?

Charley Hull’s plans for the 2025 season
The entry list for the 2025 LPGA Tour season has yet to be confirmed, and Charley Hull has not disclosed when she plans to make her next professional appearance. However, based on her recent schedule, there’s a possibility she could return to the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, where she competed in both 2023 and 2024.

If she does, it would mark her third consecutive appearance at the event. In November she also came close to winning The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican. However, she lost the event to Nelly Korda by three strokes and finished at T2, bagging $229,909. Well, next year she might be coming back to try harder and grab a win. Charley Hull also competed in the Honda LPGA Thailand for two consecutive years.

While she didn’t have the best results on either occasion, the fashion-forward golfer may be looking to turn things around when the tournament returns in February 2025. In all probabilities, the LPGA star will be back for the next season, if nothing disrupts her game. Are you excited to see her back?
