Several notable players will be absent from the 2024 PNC Championship. Justin Thomas and his father, Mike, who won the event in 2020, are not participating this year. The reasons for their absence remain undisclosed.

Jordan Spieth and his father, Shawn, debuted in the tournament in 2022, finishing tied for eighth place. They are also missing from this year’s lineup, likely due to Jordan’s recovery from wrist surgery, with plans to return in 2025.

Henrik Stenson and his son, Karl, who last appeared in 2021, are absent as well. Stenson’s move to the LIV Golf League has rendered him ineligible for this PGA Tour-sanctioned event.

Additionally, Jim Furyk and his son, Tanner, who have participated since 2018, will not be competing this year. The reasons for their absence are unclear, but Jim has not played in an event since October.
