Canadian golfer Brooke Henderson showcased a mix of brilliance and challenge at the ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge tournament in Florida, held from Nov. 9 to 12. The tournament opened on a high note for Henderson as she delivered an impressive 8-under 62 in the first round, claiming the lead. However, a setback on Day 2 with a 3-over 75 saw her tumble down the leaderboard, dropping her out of the top 10.

Undeterred by the setback, Henderson demonstrated resilience and skill during the subsequent rounds. A remarkable bogey-free 65 on Saturday and a solid 2-under on Sunday allowed her to finish with a four-day total of 270. Ultimately, she found herself in a four-way tie at 10-under with In Gee Chun, Bianca Pagdanganan, and Wichanee Meechai.

Despite the challenges, Henderson’s overall performance adds to her impressive golfing career. At just 26 years old, the Smiths Falls native is the winningest Canadian golfer, boasting an impressive record of 13 championships. Her earnings from the ANNIKA tournament totaled just over $39,000 USD.

The tournament’s victor was American Lilia Vu, who concluded with a commanding 19-under, securing her fourth win of the season. She finished three strokes ahead of compatriot Alison Lee, who concluded the tournament at 16-under par, earning Vu a substantial $487,500 prize.

Henderson’s recent performance at the ANNIKA tournament follows her tied sixth-place finish at the Maybank Championship. In the current LPGA season, her Rolex Ranking stands at 13, supported by three top-10 finishes and one championship – the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions in January.

As the 2023 LPGA season nears its conclusion, Henderson currently holds the 14th position in the Race to CME rankings. The upcoming events on the tour include the CME Group Tour Championship in Naples, Florida, from Nov. 16 to 19, and the Grant Thornton Invitational, an inaugural tournament in Naples, scheduled for Dec. 8 to 10. Henderson’s supporters eagerly await her continued success in the remaining tournaments of the season.
