“Hit 20 Balls and..”: Jessica Korda’s Comeback Stalled by a Tiny Distraction Amid Back Injury Recovery

Jessica Korda, a six-time LPGA champion and sister to World No. 1 Nelly Korda, has taken an extended break from the Tour to focus on motherhood and recovery from a persistent back injury. Her break started in early 2023 after she struggled through the 2022 season, making only six starts and frequently withdrawing due to her injury.

In a recent Instagram story, Korda humorously shared the realities of balancing parenthood and rehabilitation, showing herself breastfeeding her five-month-old son after a brief golf session. With LPGA guidelines allowing up to two years of maternity leave, Korda has until February 2026 to make a full comeback without jeopardizing her Tour status, which eases her return to professional golf.

This time away allows Korda to prioritize both her son Greyson’s upbringing and her physical health without the pressure of an imminent return. While fans are eager to see her back on the course, Korda has expressed contentment in her current role as a mother, attending occasional golf clinics and keeping up with the sport.

As she progresses with rehabilitation, many speculate she may return before her maternity leave expires, potentially as early as next year. For now, Korda’s break could prove beneficial, providing her ample time to regain strength and reignite her career while fully embracing motherhood.
