Charley Hull recently opened up about her challenges on the LPGA Tour, which led her to take a four-week break before returning for the Maybank Championship. Following a strong performance at the Solheim Cup, Hull admitted that the intense schedule left her feeling exhausted.

During a press conference, she revealed struggles with heat and humidity, conditions that aggravated her skin and caused her hands to swell. The blistering conditions left her with 13 blisters, making it difficult to grip her clubs, and forcing her to withdraw from a recent pro-am event. Despite these setbacks, Hull felt optimistic about her performance in the first round, where she shot an even par.

As Hull competes at the Maybank Championship, she’s determined to regain her momentum on the tour. While her primary competition, world number one Nelly Korda, is not participating, Hull remains focused on her game, hopeful to move up the leaderboard.

Reflecting on her return, she described her opening round as “solid” but mentioned that she missed opportunities on a few holes. Hull’s resilience has her aiming for a lower score in the upcoming rounds, hoping to secure a spot in the leaderboard’s top ranks and make a strong comeback to the tour.
