Rickie Fowler opens up on three-month absence with ‘fresh start’ claim ahead of PGA Tour return

Rickie Fowler is set to make his return to the PGA Tour after a three-month absence, during which he has been focused on personal matters and recovery. His last competitive outing was at The Open Championship in July, where he struggled to find his form, finishing 71st at 13-over-par.

Since then, Fowler has missed key events, including the 3M Open and Wyndham Championship, and failed to qualify for the FedEx Cup playoffs. However, Fowler is ready to turn the page, describing his return as a “fresh start” ahead of this week’s Sanderson Farms Championship in Mississippi.

During his time away, Fowler welcomed his second daughter with his wife, Allison Stokke, and embraced fatherhood. Now, nearly three months since his last tournament, the 35-year-old is looking forward to shaking off the rust and getting back into the rhythm of competitive golf.

Although his future on the Tour is secure, thanks to his victory at the RBC Heritage last season, Fowler hopes this period will allow him to regain momentum and prepare for the 2025 campaign. His focus is on finding his form and enjoying his return to the game, while also balancing his role as a family man.
