Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian undergoes surgery amid frightening cancer scare

Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit and husband to tennis icon Serena Williams, recently underwent surgery to remove suspicious nodules on his thyroid, which were deemed likely to become cancerous. In a heartfelt Thanksgiving post on Instagram, the 41-year-old shared a hospital photo alongside moments with his two daughters, Olympia, 7, and Adira, 15 months.

Ohanian revealed that the nodules had been monitored for four years but had grown and presented significant cancer risks according to a recent biopsy. Reflecting on his family’s history with cancer, including his late mother’s battle with breast and brain cancer, he emphasized his determination to act decisively, saying, “I wasn’t gonna take any chances.”

Despite the seriousness of his health scare, Ohanian expressed gratitude for the successful outcome of the surgery and urged others, particularly fathers, to prioritize their health. “Make those doctor’s appointments,” he advised. While recovering, he took time to enjoy family moments, including a trip to Disney World with his daughters, maintaining a positive outlook.

Ohanian also disclosed a recent Lyme disease diagnosis, which he is treating without symptoms. By openly sharing his experiences, he joined a growing number of public figures raising awareness about health challenges, inspiring others to take preventive action and seek early intervention.
