Triumphant Success of Morgan, Lexi Thompson & Friends Campaign: Unveiling This Year’s Honoree and Future Initiatives for the Foundation

Morgan Pressel, the 35-year-old major champion and former LPGA phenom, continues to make a significant impact beyond her competitive career.

Hosting her annual Morgan & Friends charity event at St. Andrews Country Club and Banyan Golf Club, she raised an impressive $900,000, contributing to the cumulative $12.5 million raised over the years in the fight against breast cancer. This cause is deeply personal for Pressel, as her mother Kathy succumbed to breast cancer in 2003, making the mission of the foundation especially poignant.

In a recent Q&A with Golfweek, Pressel highlighted this year’s honoree, Lynn Brading, a two-time breast cancer survivor and national board member for Pink Ribbon Good. Describing Brading as a warrior in the fight against breast cancer, Pressel emphasized the spirit her honoree embodies—reminiscent of what her mother would have exemplified had she survived. The interview shed light on Pressel’s dedication to the cause, both through personal connections and partnerships like the one with Perficient.

Looking ahead, Pressel shared her foundation’s major upcoming project: deploying a second mammogram van on the streets of South Florida. This initiative, aimed at increasing accessibility to breast cancer screenings, stands as the primary focus of their current fundraising efforts. Pressel’s commitment to this cause is evident in the tangible impact the MammoVan has already had, performing about 18,000 mammograms and detecting 60 cancers in 2023 alone.

When asked about the demographics of MammoVan visitors, Pressel noted a mix of both regular attendees and first-timers. School districts in the area, particularly teachers, heavily depend on the accessibility of the van for their annual mammograms. Pressel recognizes the challenges women face in prioritizing their health and aims to eliminate any excuses by making screenings more convenient. In doing so, she underscores the foundation’s broader mission to ensure women stay vigilant in maintaining their well-being.
