In a heartwarming image shared on Instagram, Spieth, accompanied by his wife and son, participated in the famous par-3 contest at the Augusta National just before the Masters tournament. It was during this moment that Spieth was captured holding his baby. Paige Spiranac, however, couldn’t help but notice something amusing about the way Spieth handled his child.
During an episode of her podcast ‘Playing a Round with Paige Renee,’ Spiranac humorously commented on the picture, saying, “Did you see that picture of Jordan Spieth holding his child, though? On Instagram? Like he has never held a baby before.”
Amidst the laughter, Spiranac drew a comparison to a different celebrity parent. She compared Spieth’s baby-holding skills with that of model Emily Ratajkowski, who faced criticism for her 3-month-old son’s photo due to her unconventional baby-holding technique.
Ratajkowski, like Spieth, shared a photo of her child on Instagram. However, the backlash and criticism she received forced her to disable the comment section and eventually remove the post. Spiranac amusingly summed up the comparison, saying, “It’s like who held the baby worse. It was so funny.”
The par-3 contest at Augusta National seemed to be a bright spot for Spieth, given his recent struggles on the golf course. Historically, Spieth has performed exceptionally well at the Masters, with multiple top-10 finishes and a victory to his name in previous years. However, his performance in 2022 marked a significant departure from his usual standards. Spieth finished the tournament with an overall score of 6-over par, missing the cutline by two strokes.
